Tasks
The order in which to complete tasks is straightforward in code. A task in room 'n' can only be done if the number of already completed tasks is 'n - 2'. For example, room 02 : "Ted's Desk" will only count if there are 0 tasks completed; room 16 : "The Wage Department" will only count if there are $14 (20) tasks completed. As is documented elsewhere, the full list is:

Theme tunes
The tune on the intro screen is an extract of The Blue Danube, composed by Johann Strauss II in 1866. A shorter arrangement of this tune had previously featured in Manic Miner.
The tune during the game is the Radetzky March, composed by Johann Strauss Sr in 1848.
Name dropping
As well as the overall game style, there are several references to Matthew Smith, Manic Miner and Jet Set Willy. Matthew's Lair references Manic Miner's Eugene's Lair (itself a reference to programmer Eugene Evans) and features a large toilet, a stock-in-trade prop of Matthew Smith. Surbiton Colliery is a reference to Manic Miner. The Forgotten Room may be a reference to the Forgotten Abbey in Jet Set Willy. Satellite Communication System's design resembles the Watch Tower in Jet Set Willy.
The favour was returned in Jet Set Willy II (though not programmed by Matthew Smith), which featured a room called Macaroni Ted, a sly dig at Technician Ted's programmers whose day jobs were working as engineers at Marconi.
